Ekas’lam (my hood) is a first single from an untitled album Simphiwe Mabuya is presently busy curating. The song features Redondo , one member of the acclaimed Spaza crew in Cape Town, Driemanskap. Ekas’lam deals with growing up eKasi (township/hood) and being affected by all the social ills you can imagine i.e. crime, poverty, unemployment etc ..which are clear results of the huge inequality in Southern Africa.
